Inspired by the couple of articles about driving shoes that popped up on Oppo recently, and also inspired by my unhealthy love for Lotus F1's livery and by the fact that my Vans have holes in the soles now, I just ordered myself a new pair of shoes. Onitsuka Tiger California 78 OG Vintage.
I'm hoping the rounded heel makes them good for driving. Every review I've read says they're very comfortable, so I think I made a good decision.
To make this car-related, here is a Lotus 79, which raced in 1978.

I still haven't decided on what I'm going to get lol.
Let us know how you like them. I'm only worried about how flat the soles are with the tigers.

Yeah I made sure the place I ordered them from had a good return policy. I'll try to remember to update this when I've tried them out.

The next pair of shoes I get I'll be considering these, but the only thing that concerns me is the height of the heel foam. I have a pair of Adidas that have about 1/2-3/4" of foam and it is impossible for me to get comfortable driving my Miata in them. Granted I am on the upper limits of being comfortable in a Miata as it is, I just need to find some good all around shoes with a round heel.

Just got them in the mail today. Really comfortable. They looked too narrow when I first took them out of the box (I have wide feet) but they stretch well and fit nicely. They're also a lot lighter than I expected so I guess they really are the lotus of shoes.
I'm about to go driving around today so I'll let you know how they are for driving, but out of the box alone I would recommend them.
